By age of 16 Andrew Hajduczek had no doubt he was born to be a surgeon. By 18 he was assisting at complex operations and tying knots like the best of them (that was in Europe, before Medical School).

After completing the surgical residency program at University of California, Irvine (1983-1988), Dr. Hajduczek joined a busy private practice in LA and Orange counties. The scope of his practice covered all aspects of General Surgery (including laparoscopy since 1990) as well as Vascular and Thoracic Surgery.

In 1996 he got involved in bariatric surgery by assisting the most experienced bariatric surgeons on over 2500 open and laparoscopic operations and participating in patient care. He gradually shifted his main interests into surgical management of obesity and related problems learning how to achieve best results.

Over the years he gained extensive experience in all aspects of laparoscopic and open bariatric operations (including complex revisions) and performs them regularly as a mainstay of his practice.

Dr Hajduczek is a Board Certified (and Re-Certified twice) Fellow of American College of Surgeons and an active member of SoCal Chapter of ACS, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and its California Chapter (CCASMBS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and Los Angeles Surgical Society.

He served as a Chief of Surgery at four hospitals and as director of two bariatric surgery programs.

He now works with a dedicated multidisciplinary team of bariatric professionals in several offices and hospitals in LA and Orange counties.

 In his rare time off he loves to play with his two grandkids and with nature - via his favorite adventure sports of paragliding, windsurfing, skiing, and diving. He also enjoys books and music,gardening,travel and time spent with his lovely wife of 30 plus years.
